Education is an important facet of the Bunbury Regional Art Galleries\'92 Noongar Community Cultural Development programme. The Noongar Community Cultural Development Officer (NCCDO) is available to visit schools to conduct talks, lectures and workshops, and, of course, South West schools are most welcome to arrange excursions to the Galleries, the programme for which may include a talk or workshop by the NCCDO, as well as guided tours of the exhibitions on show at the time. The Officer will also identify and co-ordinate other Indigenous artists to work with teachers and students if that is the wish of the school.
The Officer has developed a programme for primary and high schools that explores different element of Indigenous art practice in Australia. Teacher can choose from three different modules, all of which can be tailored to meet the needs of each individual school.
