Davida Palmer’s career in clay spans more than 45 years, has taken her all over the world, earned her awards and exhibitions and has seen her represented in prestigious collections and in the homes of those lucky enough to own a precious piece of her work.

Her education in clay began in 1975, studying ceramics at TAFE for six years where she was awarded Student of the Year in 19871. Davida has taken her knowledge into teaching, beginning in 1997 teaching at Adult Learners week where her outstanding efforts were awarded again with a nomination for Outstanding Tutor. Continuing her love of teaching, Davida has been involved with South West TAFE, Perth Pottery Conference, Bunbury Community Youth Support Scheme and of course, Stirling Street Arts Centre, where she is a much loved and highly valued life member.

From Adelaide (1983) and New Zealand (1996) and all the way to Turkey (1998) Davida has toured the country and world to attend pottery conferences, expanding her knowledge of the material and art form.

Davida has exhibited as a solo artist and as part of group exhibitions at the Perth Craft Council, Amberly Wines, The Lord Forrest Hotel, Bunbury Regional Art Gallery and Stirling Street Arts Centre; her work is held in the City of Bunbury and Bunbury Catholic College Art Collections.
