Sewing Circle with Suzie Vickery | Saturday 18 January

Artist Susie Vickery has a number of artworks in the Machine & Makers exhibition that feature different sewing techniques such as applique and embroidery. Join the artist for one of our free sewing circle sessions and learn some simple stitching techniques. These sessions are open to everyone, no previous experience is required however there are limited spots available so please RSVP via eventbrite for one of the below sessions!

Session 1 at 1030am – 1130am

Session 2 at 1pm – 2pm

Vickery is a Fellow of the Society for Designer Craftsmen, UK and an Honorary Fellow at the Victorian College of Arts at the University of London. Vickery has extensive experience of rural and refugee development projects for women, particularly in handicrafts and costume in Nepal, Tibet and India.

Following the sewing sessions Vickery will be presenting an Artist talk at 2pm. All are welcome!

Getting involved in the arts is enjoyable, provides a sense of achievement, and is a distraction from everyday worries. It’s as easy as A-B-C, Act-Belong-Commit.
